PGA Championship 2010

Six years ago the PGA Championship was held for the first time in the state of Wisconsin at Whistling Straits, just outside of Sheboygan. I spent that week staying at my roommate Brian's parent's house in Sheboygan Falls, and watching the best golfers in the world compete on one of their biggest stages in front of my own eyes.

Today, I took my soon to be wife to Whistling Straits for the first practice round for this year's PGA Championship to see one of the best golf courses in the country and some of the best golfers in the world. We got to the course early in the morning so we could avoid the crowds for as long as possible, and so we could get back home at a decent time. When we arrived, we found out that Tiger Woods had teed off extremely early, but was still on the front 9, so we walked out until we ran into him on the 7th green. We spent the next couple of hours following him around, which was amazing to watch, even with his recent struggles. Thanks to youthful legs and curiosity, we climbed over one of the huge mounds on the course and sat down behind the 15th tee box, where we were able to watch Tiger tee off from approximately 10 ft away. To watch these golfers is just amazing, as a golfer I know how difficult it is to "put the ball in the hole", and these guys are able to do wonders with a golf ball.

Without more rambling, here are a few pictures from the day...

Thoughful Tiger... I'm sure he doesn't have anything on his mind right now...

Looking back at the 9th green and fairway

11th green

Tiger on 15th tee

Tiger teeing off on 15

What actually happened after this drive, he then pulled out another ball and striped it (BTW, this hole is a 518 yard par 4... where I'm from we call those par 5's... Tiger hit driver, 5-iron... FML)

The par 3 17th, if you look close, there's a ball about an inch from the hole, that's Tiger's ball. So yes, he can hit decent golf shots and not just spectators.

I didn't know who this was until someone else said his name... Bob Vokey. For those of you who golf, Titleist wedges, for those of you who don't golf, ignore this picture.

P.S. No spectators were harmed by Tiger Woods during the photographing of this round.

So it's been a while again...

Don't worry! I should have enough time to update this more often now. I finally got a new computer, a 15" MacBook Pro, and I've got Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 on it, so the pictures should have a little more punch to them. During the moving of files from computer to computer I lost track of my logo files, so for now I'll be going without.

Catching Up

It's really depressing that it's been 5 months since I've uploaded pictures to the blog, I swear I'm going to try to do a lot better than that this year. As many of you know, the last 4 1/2 months have been extremely stressful, almost as bad as the 6 months before that. I went from being unemployed to working 60 hours a week at two jobs, neither of which pay that well... I wish there was a way to make some money off of photography, I'd be a lot happier. None of these have had anything done to them in Lightroom or Photoshop, I haven't been able to get the iMac I want, hopefully I can come back to them at some point soon and see what I can get out of them. Anyways, here goes, I'll try to give some background where it might be needed.
